Animal technician
Within the client’s animal facility, your mission is to perform the role of animal technician (rodent species), ensuring the proper housing and care conditions for animals involved in research projects according to current regulations.
Depending on the type of position (cleaning, animal care), you will be responsible for:
Cleaning and disinfecting animal facility premises, and cleaning and sterilizing (autoclave) housing equipment according to current procedures;
Monitoring housing conditions, temperature, and humidity;
Animal care: changing bedding, providing food and water, handling animal entries and exits, checking the health and well-being of animals, and observing clinical signs according to current procedures;
Managing mouse lines (breeding, weaning, marking, biopsies, etc.);
Being on duty in the animal facility during weekends and holidays.
The profile of the animal technician
You have a laboratory animal technician diploma (BEPA, BTA, or equivalent).
Regulatory training as an Applicator (formerly level 2) is required.
You are familiar with Directive 2010/63/EU and regulations on animal experimentation.
